Au Pair in Spain

The Au Pair program in Spain allows you to explore this hot and incredibly beautiful country. You will be able to explore the Spanish way of life as an insider, living with a host family, taking care of their children, and teaching them English. You will acquire new friends, experience, and skills that will be invaluable in your future working career!

Host families interested in Au Pairs are all over the country, from north to south, east to west, and from the shores of the Atlantic to the Mediterranean!

Program requirements:

• Age from 18 to 30 years.
• Speak English at a high level (B1-B2 at the very least) clean from any accent.*
• Basic knowledge of the Spanish language is an indisputable plus.
• Love for children, sociability, honesty, punctuality, and responsibility.

• A driver's license and driving experience is welcome but not a prerequisite for participating in the Spanish program.

Program terms & conditions:

• The duration of the program may vary. You can choose between a short stay – 1-3 months, and a long one – 4-12 months.**
• The candidate is expected to help with childcare and light housework 25-30 hours per week.
• Live-in stay (the host family provides a separate room), board, and lodging.
• At least 1 day off per week.
• When placed for 1 year, paid leave is 1 month; when placed for 6 months, paid leave is 2 weeks.
• Spanish language courses and a unique opportunity to learn a foreign language by immersing yourself in the language environment.***
• Support and advice from a Spanish agency during your stay as an Au Pair, 24-hour contact number in Spain.
• Pocket money is 70-75 euros per week.

Destination specifics

* The main emphasis in the activities of the Au Pair in Spain is positioned precisely on teaching the children of the host family the English language. You will also help with daily housework and babysitting, but communication should be predominantly in English.

** In Spain, there is a unique opportunity to participate for a short period (mostly in the summer, but not necessarily) – from 1 to 3 months.
To use this option, the candidate must have a biometric passport and the right to visa-free travel!

*** Language courses are not a mandatory component of the program in this country. If the participant wishes to attend them, they must cover the costs (~€300-400 depends on school and location).
